Restaurant – Sweet Charlie’s
Summer is almost upon us and the weather is heating up, so why not treat yourself to a sweet, frozen treat at Sweet Charlie’s? Located on Walnut St in the Historic District, Sweet Charlie’s has been offering ice cream with a unique spin since 2015. Sweet Charlie’s employees make the Thai style ice cream to order on a cold plate right in front of the your eyes, providing them with ice cream and a show. It is both mesmerizing and delicious.
Choose from a variety of cleverly named flavors, including “Kiss & Tell” and “Off Duty”, or craft your own flavor using a variety of ingredients. If you need a little more than just the ice cream, try ordering a Tall Charlie. This mouth-watering treat is served on a glazed doughnut and is sure to leave you satisfied.

Thing to Do – Admiral’s Tavern
If you are looking for some evening fun beginning Memorial Day Weekend, look no further than Penn’s landing. A beer garden is popping up there for the summer season in a fairly unusual location. For the second year in a row, the warship, Cruiser Olympia, will transform into the Admiral’s Tavern beer garden for the summer season.
You can hop on the warship to get your hops on from May 24th to May 27th between 6pm and 11pm. The garden will also be open every Friday and Saturday for the rest of the summer if you miss out on opening weekend.
The focus will be on local breweries making this an amazing opportunity to try out the local tastes. If beer isn’t your style, fear not, wine and cocktails will also be available. Those who get hungry will be able to grab a bite to eat. Various games and entertainment will also be provided to make this one full evening.
